Daily Scheduling at the Crumbly Cookie

Folks have been asking what we do here at the Crumbly Cookie. In today’s post we will give you a glimpse into our daily activities from sun up to sun down!

Mornings at the Crumbly Cookie are usually pretty lazy. Guests are encouraged to sleep in and wake up when they are ready. Most of the time, we get up a bit early anyway to take advantage of the morning sun shining through the eastern windows. Our chef makes delicious breakfasts, too! You can choose between toast and eggs, a breakfast sandwich, or a selection of cereals and milks. After a hearty breakfast, our guests can find a cozy spot to read or finish their homeschooling assignments.

At mid-day, it’s time to work up an appetite for lunch. Guests are welcome to play in the backyard while the chef prepares another delicious meal or, if they prefer, they can take our resident puppy Cameron for a walk around the block. Cameron loves to pull his walker around the neighbourhood so that he can visit his favourite spots and say hello to all of the other puppies in the area.

For lunch, we usually serve a daily special. Check the menu on the white board in the kitchen to see what we are serving up this week!

Afternoons are filled with crafts and other activities. Last week, we put together a tricky puzzle and this week we are learning a new song on the ukulele. Guests can also visit our basement studio and practice drums or box on the heavyweight bag.

For dinner, Chef Jessie always prepares a spectacular meal. Today we had Beyond the Meat burgers on homemade buns with fresh greens from the herb garden, sautéed mushrooms and zucchini, and grilled halloumi cheese. Yum!

Evenings are a great time to settle into a movie or show in our family room with a bowl of popcorn or a liquorice snack. Adult guests are welcome to select a local craft beer from the fridge or mix themselves a cocktail with any our our featured spirits.

Lights out at 10 pm!
